| EMMA ASHCROFT |
Emma Ashcroft is 36 and has been involved with Ashcroft Management Talent Agency
(formerly Sharron Ashcroft Management) since 1997.
A pianist from 3 years
old, she is competent
in numerous instruments (including oboe and voice),
studying
only several to a higher level (including piano, 'cello and percussion).
A member of both Calderdale Youth Symphony Orchestra and Calderdale Youth Orchestra, the latter
with which she competed nationally at 15 as the soloist in the little-known piano concerto,
'Lizzie's Pictures'. The following year the orchestra also won the Outstanding Performance
award at the National Youth Festival.
She
has a degree in
Contemporary Musics (Performance, Composition, Technology, Dance)from
Leeds University's Bretton Hall. Studying in 1994-7, luminaries of the day included: the composer,
performer and animateur Barry Russell (London Philharmonic Orchestra,
Royal Liverpool Philharmonic
Orchestra, Holland Symfonia); the composer and musicologist Leigh Landy ('Organised Sound' editor,
Dutch National Theatre, 'What's the matter with today's experimental music?'); and Odilon Marcenaro
(Ideefix Experimental Sound Theatre, Cornelius Cardew Ensemble,
Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama).
Post-uni , she was part of the short-lived group 'Finkle' (now defunct).
Previously a qualified exercise instructor too, Emma was one of the first 'Kick Aerobics' instructors
in the country.
She is also a qualified and experienced music teacher as well as a qualified and experienced
web developer.
Emma
became a mother in 2006, the Director of Sharron Ashcroft Management
in 2007 and the
Company Secretary of Satellite
of Love Records in 2008.
In 2011 she started the brand, Collective Elements: Collective Artists, Collective Extremists and
Collective Voices, as well as Image Impossible with award-winning Lighting Cameraman Ian Burton.
She has cast numerous corporate videos for HBOS plc. More recently she cast a development workshop
for
the Lakeside Arts Centre/Engine House co-production of 'Red Riding Hood' for Mike Kenny (Writer)
and Matt Aston (Director).
Voluntary work/associations include: Children's Storytelling, Luddenden Conservation Society,
the Parents Teachers & Friends Association and the Ganden Buddhist Centre.
Emma
has a genuine interest in all the arts. |
